SHIFT-MED ("Shaping the Future of Universities: Twin Transitions across the Mediterranean") is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project. Co-funded by the European Union, it helps universities in Tunisia and Palestine lead the green and digital transition.
SHIFT-MED aims to strengthen the role of universities as key actors in sustainable development, digital innovation, and inclusive growth across the Mediterranean region by supporting higher education institutions in their twin transition toward greener and more digital futures. Through capacity-building activities, governance training, stakeholder engagement, and the development of innovative strategies, the project empowers universities to become catalysts for socio-economic transformation and regional cooperation. SHIFT-MED promotes modern, resilient, and internationally connected higher education ecosystems that are capable of responding to emerging environmental, technological, and societal challenges while fostering inclusion, employability, entrepreneurship, and long-term sustainability.
